Pareidolia is the tendency to perceive a specific, often meaningful image in a random visual pattern. I was struck once again by pareidolia, seeing the formation of an almost tangible hand. I like to find a nice earthly foreground to capture the Lady Aurora and try to pick a landscape item such as a tree to anchor the eye. On this night Aurora appeared to choose her own tree for the shoot. The Aurora brings so much wonder to my world, I would not have been the least surprised if her ephemeral green hand had managed to pluck that tree from the field in which it stood. The camera managed to catch the last vestiges of a blue sky late on a lovely spring night in the Lakeland.
